On November 17 and 18, 2022, the Higher Technical School of the University of Lleida organized the fifth edition of the World Wide EPS Meeting (WWEPS).

It is an international meeting of universities, international partners with whom the Higher Polytechnic School maintains collaboration links with the following objectives:

  • Deepen this mutual knowledge in order to strengthen these bonds.
  • Incentivize and motivate the students of the center to move, giving them first-hand information on possible destinations for international mobility and joint double degrees.
  • Create and strengthen existing synergies, both in the teaching field and in the research field with the different universities (creation of double international degrees, request for joint research projects, etc.).

This year the WWEPS Meeting was in person (the last edition in 2020 had to be held online due to the health situation caused by COVID-19).

This day is especially aimed at 2nd and 3rd year students, who want to go on mobility in the next two years and, therefore, with the aim of facilitating their attendance, on Thursday 17 November the 2nd and 3rd year EPS classes in the time slots: from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, both in Lleida and on the Igualada campus.

The WWEPS started on Thursday 17 November with a reception and presentation to the participating institutions by the vice-chancellor of the University of Lleida, Francesc Giné, and the director of the EPS, Magda Valls. Afterwards, the partners were accompanied on a guided tour of the school's facilities and the campus and, finally, a series of presentations addressed to the students by the universities were held in classroom 0.02 EPS (Lleida Campus) and online for the students of the Igualada Campus.

On Friday, November 18, the Partners Fair was held, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the basement of the EPS with a large attendance of students.

Finally, it should be noted that the participation in the WWEPS was contemplated as a Transversal Subject of 1 ECTS.

The EPS considers the internationalization process of the center to be a primary aspect, both for its own implementation and consolidation as a center of reference, and for the professional future of its students. This process must allow us to face the future with optimism and with a global vision open to the world.

The future professionals emerging from the Higher Polytechnic School must be able to face with the maximum guarantees of success their future work challenges, understand and visualize in a global way the authentic and excellent work opportunities that are offered at scale European and worldwide.

This desire for internationalization focuses on four main lines of action: The internationalization of the institution in all its areas of action (teaching, research and transfer), the internationalization of all members of the university community, the internationalization of research and transfer and the consolidation of solid and high-quality international destinations for our students.

It is precisely in this last line of action that the World Wide EPS Meeting is framed.
